Compact sorting system HS1000

The HS1000 compact sorting system automates post-harvest sorting. Dedicated cameras inspect color, shape and damage, and the system automatically sorts fruit into the quality and size classes you specify, reducing labor while sorting with high accuracy.

Three roles in one machine

External and internal inspection mounted on a conveying and discharge mechanism. In addition to appearance, it grades internal quality, measured without cutting, on the same line.

  1. Conveying and discharge

Conveys the fruit and sorts it to the outlets according to the grading result.

  2. External inspection

Cameras measure color, blemishes, shape and size, and grade fruit against the quality and size classes you specify.

  3. Internal inspection

A near-infrared internal quality sensor measures sugar content (Brix) and acidity without cutting, putting numbers on quality that appearance alone cannot reveal, on the same line.

Sorting workflow and throughput

Mandarin sorting workflow: (1) load mandarins, (2) external and internal inspection, (3) sort by grade and size class, (4) throughput of 200 10 kg cartons per hour
Measured sorting capacity
2t/hour
Equivalent in size M mandarins
20,000pieces/hour
Equivalent in 10 kg cartons
200cartons/hour

* Measured values were obtained with size M mandarins (approx. 100 g) at a conveyor fill rate of approx. 60%, including periods when fruit did not line up neatly on the conveyor. Piece and carton counts are converted from the sorting capacity (cartons calculated as 10 kg boxes) and will vary with the target and fill rate.

Sorted by grade and class, then on to packing.

Grade and class are determined from the results of external and internal inspection, and the fruit is sorted by grade and class and sent on to packing (the example in the figure uses four classes: 特選, 秀, 優 and 良).
