The technology behind the Inspection Systems business

Our inspection systems business draws on core technologies such as sensing and optics to provide equipment that inspects small scratches and contamination — difficult for the human eye to recognize — at high speed and high resolution.

These technologies were originally developed for surface image processing in the steel industry and halftone-dot measurement of printed materials, and have been accumulated over many years at basic-research sites across medicine, biology and industry.

Mujiken, our plain-surface quality inspection system, inspects plain materials such as high-performance film, paper and metal, and also supports next-generation applications that demand even higher performance — including electrode sheets for secondary batteries and fuel cells.
